West Bank annexation supported by nearly 40% of Israeli Jews, JPPI poll finds

A recent poll by the Jewish People Policy Institute (JPPI) indicates that nearly 40% of Israeli Jews support annexing the West Bank, with 55% desiring continued Israeli authority over settlements in any future agreement. Only 10% supported full sovereignty transfer to Palestinians, while 30% favored dividing the territory. Among those supporting annexation, 22% suggested transferring the Palestinian population to Arab countries, and 14% proposed Palestinian autonomy post-annexation. Less than 1% of Jewish Israelis supported full Israeli citizenship for Palestinians upon annexation. The poll also revealed widespread skepticism regarding the US-backed Gaza Board of Peace plan, with 58% of all Israelis believing the situation in Gaza would not change. JPPI President Professor Yedidya Stern noted this reflects "deep pessimism among Israelis" and a "deep lack of trust in Hamas' willingness to relinquish its control over the Strip."
