West Bank raids follow Gilad Farm shooting, nine arrested including shooter's father
Police did not say what the father was suspected of and did not allege that he was involved in the attack itself. He was transferred for questioning.
Israeli security forces arrested nine suspects in overnight raids across the West Bank following a deadly shooting near Gilad Farm on Friday. Among those arrested was the father of the Palestinian attacker, though police did not specify the charges against him or allege his involvement in the attack. Three other suspects, believed to be involved in terrorist activity, were apprehended in the Balata refugee camp in Nablus during a joint Border Police and Shin Bet operation. Additionally, six individuals were arrested in separate operations in Tal, Ramallah, Shuweika, and Bani Naim on suspicion of incitement to terrorism, rioting, and smuggling Palestinians into Israel without permits. The Friday attack resulted in the deaths of Maj. Yuval Ezra and Sgt.-Maj. (res.) Benyahu Mellet after a Palestinian attacker seized a rifle and opened fire on Israeli hikers.
