What Australian trauma doctors found when they came to Israel

A delegation of Australian trauma physicians visited Israel earlier this month for a medical mission focused on mutual learning and training in trauma care. Organized by AUSiMED and the Australia-Israel Chamber of Commerce, the mission included Dr. Nir Samuel from Schneider Children's Medical Center of Israel and Prof. Mark Fitzgerald from The Alfred Hospital in Australia. The group visited leading Israeli medical institutions like Hadassah Ein Kerem, Schneider Children's, and Sheba Medical Center, sharing expertise and discussing advancements, including full-scale medical simulations at Sheba's MSR-Azrieli. Dr. Samuel emphasized the importance of international collaboration, stating, "We built a program with ongoing mutual learning and training." This initiative aims to strengthen professional ties and facilitate future exchanges, binational research, and innovation between the two countries' medical systems, despite recent political tensions.
