Who was Israeli American Daniel Lewin, the first victim of 9/11?

Daniel Lewin, an Israeli-American born in Colorado, was the first victim of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Lewin made aliyah at 14, served in the IDF's elite Sayeret Matkal unit, and earned two degrees from the Technion while working at IBM. He later received a scholarship to MIT for his PhD, where he developed an algorithm for "consistent hashing" to manage high website traffic.
