Why Morocco's commitment is a major milestone for the US peace plan in Gaza – analysis

Morocco formally signed its Participating Country Agreement with the International Stabilization Force (ISF) on July 16, a key development for the US-backed Board of Peace (BoP) in Gaza. This commitment is crucial for providing security and reconstruction in Gaza, where Hamas still controls a significant portion of the enclave. Morocco, an Abraham Accords member, will support humanitarian aid and train the Palestinian Police Force. The BoP stated, "Moroccan forces will support humanitarian aid delivery to Gaza and help train the Palestinian Police Force." This follows Kosovo's Security Force joining the ISF on July 12. The EU is also actively involved, with Commissioner Dubravka Suica meeting with BoP representatives to advance Gaza's early recovery and turn the Gaza Peace Plan into "tangible progress on the ground."
