Woman accused of posing as man and deceiving women into sexual acts released to house arrest

A woman suspected of impersonating a man to deceive women into sexual acts has been released to 10 days of house arrest by the Petah Tikva Magistrate's Court, after nearly two weeks in custody. Police allege she formed online relationships under the name "Orel Hazan," leading women to believe they were interacting with a man and engaging in sexual acts under false pretenses. The investigation began on July 26 after several women in their 20s reported similar experiences, with one complainant stating, "For months we were in a romantic relationship, until I discovered that it was a woman." The suspect, a former police officer, told the court, "I have no criminal record. I was a police officer for two years. Everything I did was because I was in a low place in my life." Police are examining if this pattern of deception occurred over several years and are expecting to file a serious indictment.
