ZZ Top drummer, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Frank Beard dies at age 77 in Texas home

Frank Beard, the longtime drummer for the legendary rock band ZZ Top, passed away at his Richmond, Texas ranch at age 77. The cause of death was not disclosed. Beard was a member of the iconic trio, known for hits like "Sharp Dressed Man" and "Legs," for 56 years, alongside guitarist Billy Gibbons and bassist Dusty Hill, forming one of music history's most enduring lineups. Gibbons stated, "Today, Elwood and I lost a great friend and collaborator, and the world lost one of the most naturally innovative drummers." ZZ Top, inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, canceled two immediate shows but plans to resume performances as Beard had wished.
