Beersheba terror suspect admits to 'wanting to blow up' nightclub dancers

Abdullah Gergawi, 20, from Shaqib al Salam, was indicted Tuesday for an alleged plot to carry out a terrorist attack near the Forum nightclub in Beersheba. Gergawi admitted to investigators that he intended to target dancers, stating, "I wanted to blow up the people dancing there, whether they were Jews or Arabs." He faces charges including contact with a foreign agent and preparing for terrorism. Gergawi detailed searching YouTube for explosive-making instructions, attempting to create a device using agricultural lime, sulfur from matches, and charcoal. He also admitted to consuming ISIS-related content since 2022, joining ISIS support groups on Signal, and discussing jihad.
