Captured Sinwar document outlines plans for ‘10,000-strong’ terror invasion force

Newly captured documents from former Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, released by the Amit Terrorism and Intelligence Research Institute on July 13, detail plans for a 10,000-strong terror invasion force. The documents outline a strategy to seize 25 junctions and over 220 Israeli locations, instructing terrorists to “expel the settlers,” particularly women and children, and kidnap men aged 17-50. Sinwar also assessed that Israel might respond with “a nuclear bomb” against Gaza. Dr. Hayim Iserovich, deputy director of the institute, noted that a separate document from Sinwar explicitly instructed terrorists to document atrocities against Israeli civilians and soldiers to “instill terror in Israelis with the goal of amplifying the impact of the attack, and to awaken the other arenas.” The plan involved a prolonged deception campaign to achieve surprise, followed by overwhelming IDF defenses to allow deep penetration into Israeli communities. The documents also stressed a propaganda strategy to present the attack as a “human” event under the “right of return” narrative.
