Congressman García Votes to End Blank Check for Weapons to Israel

Congressman Jesús “Chuy” García voted for the Massie amendment to the FY27 State Department appropriations bill, which aimed to cut $3.3 billion in military aid to Israel. García stated that he has “consistently advocated to end our government’s use of our tax dollars to fund death and destruction abroad.” He cited concerns about the Israeli government's actions in Gaza, the West Bank, and southern Lebanon, as well as its involvement in the “illegal war in Iran.” As Whip of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, García expressed pride in his vote and urged colleagues to support the amendment, viewing it as a step towards “peace, justice, and dignity for all people.”
