Givati soldiers face swift punishment after mass walkout at Sde Teiman base

Fourteen Givati Brigade soldiers from the Tzabar Battalion received 30-day military prison sentences and removal from combat service after leading a mass walkout at the Sde Teiman base on Thursday. Approximately 80 other soldiers who participated returned to the base for an "educational process." The walkout was triggered by senior commanders' decision to remove and destroy battalion insignias, which soldiers claimed were memorials to fallen comrades. One soldier reported, "One of the commanders used a five-kilogram hammer to destroy one of the insignias." Soldiers stated that videos of the destruction, which they found "humiliating," prompted their insubordination. The brigade had recently returned from prolonged combat in southern Lebanon and was preparing for redeployment to Gaza.
