Hadash’s Jafar Farah withdraws Knesset bid amid sexual harassment allegations

Jafar Farah, 59, of Hadash, withdrew his candidacy for the second spot on the Democratic Front for Peace and Equality (Hadash) list for the Knesset on Thursday. This decision followed mounting pressure due to sexual harassment allegations, which Farah "strongly denies." Farah stated his withdrawal was made "out of a sense of responsibility and out of support for the Joint List" and to prevent attempts to undermine the Joint List. He was hospitalized on Thursday for a "temporary health crisis." Hadash's national secretariat and central committee will convene to select a replacement candidate from the national council.
