Herzog says Israel-Saudi peace is his dream, 'unsurprised' by renewed Iran conflict, in interview

President Isaac Herzog expressed his aspiration for peace between Israel and Saudi Arabia in an interview with Saudi Arabia's Al-Arabiya, stating, "It is my dream to see peace between Israel and Saudi Arabia." He praised Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman and emphasized the importance of dialogue between Jerusalem and Mecca for peaceful coexistence. Herzog also commended renewed US strikes against Iran, noting he was "not surprised" by Iran's retaliatory actions, which he described as consistent with their pattern of violating agreements. He highlighted the success of the Abraham Accords and affirmed the strong, albeit sometimes tactically different, relationship between Israel and the United States, acknowledging a shared understanding of the threat posed by Iran.
