Hezbollah launched a drone at IDF soldiers, the military chose not to tell the public – report

Hezbollah launched an explosive drone near IDF soldiers north of the Beaufort Castle area on Friday, but the IDF did not publicly report the incident, according to Israeli media. There were no casualties or damage. The IDF stated, "The IDF releases information to the public based on factual considerations and situational assessments. The IDF spokesperson will not publish information that, based on a situation assessment, could harm our forces operating in combat zones." This decision was reportedly made by IDF Northern Command chief Maj.-Gen. Rafi Milo.

This incident occurred as the IDF investigated an explosion in southern Lebanon on Wednesday that killed two reservists, Maj. (res.) Harel Birenstock and M.-Sgt. (res.) Tamir Vaknin, and wounded four others. The IDF called the explosion a "blatant violation" of the ceasefire and subsequently struck targets in southern Lebanon.
