Jewish Ohio governor candidate Amy Acton targeted by armed assailant at campaign event

An armed assailant, Patrick Havas, 38, charged toward Jewish Democratic Ohio gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton at a campaign event at the Canfield Fair on Sunday, injuring several people. Havas, who possessed a taser and two pistols, was stopped by Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers. He was booked on charges of disorderly conduct and two counts of assault. Ohio Governor Mike DeWine stated, "Violence or the threat of violence at political or public events is always unacceptable." Acton's opponent, Republican Vivek Ramaswamy, also condemned the incident, with his communications director stating, "What happened today is completely unacceptable and has no place in politics." This incident is the latest in a series of political violence occurrences in the United States.
