Jewish-owned Florida venue cancels DSA campaign event featuring Tlaib

A Jewish-owned venue in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, canceled a Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) campaign event featuring Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) after reviewing the event's "full scope and nature" and citing "increased security concerns." The Venue Fort Lauderdale stated its "values and commitment to the Jewish community are deeply important to us." Tlaib, who has accused Israel of "genocide" in Gaza, was scheduled to speak alongside other Democratic candidates. Organizers, including Gen-Z for Change, called the cancellation an "Islamophobic intimidation campaign" and claimed the venue demanded they "uninvite Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib from the rally or the event will be canceled." After a replacement venue also canceled, organizers announced the event would proceed at a "3rd allied space."
