Netanyahu's wife, sons to receive extended Shin Bet protection, PM granted lifelong security

The Ministerial Committee for Shin Bet Affairs approved extended personal protection for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's family on Thursday. Prime Minister Netanyahu will receive lifelong protection, while his wife, Sara Netanyahu, will be protected for as long as her husband is alive. Their sons, Yair and Avner Netanyahu, will be granted security for at least the next five years. This decision, which comes after pressure from the Netanyahus and Shin Bet Chief David Zini's approval, is based on assessments from Shin Bet and Mossad officials that the family faces a "lifetime threat level" from enemies of Israel seeking revenge for recent wars. The committee clarified that this decision applies solely to the Netanyahu family, with security for other former prime ministers' relatives to be reviewed individually.
