Israel plans to establish a national quantum-computing research and development center to foster innovation and integrate diverse quantum technologies. Dror Bin, CEO of the Israel Innovation Authority, stated that the center's purpose is not to build a complete national quantum computer, but rather to create an R&D lab where different hardware and software components can be tested and integrated. He emphasized that "something like 10% of the overall private investment in quantum computing companies was made in Israel" in 2025, highlighting the country's specialization in key components. Bin expects usable quantum applications before 2030 and believes Israel's approach, focusing on private investment and government support, will position it as a leader in specific quantum categories. He also sees opportunities for regional AI cooperation, leveraging Israel's technological prowess with neighboring countries' land and energy resources.
