Shin Bet head rejects Eisenkot's security detail request, accused of political motives – report

Shin Bet chief David Zini has reportedly denied a request from Yashar Party head Gadi Eisenkot for a permanent security detail, despite escalating threats on social media and warnings from the defense sector about potential targeting by hostile actors like Iran. Eisenkot's staff, who had repeatedly requested the security, were informed that while a liaison and intelligence gathering would be provided for serious incidents, permanent protection was denied. Eisenkot's campaign submitted written objections, stating that "the physical threat against him is increasing every day" and accusing the Shin Bet chief and other authorities of failing to act due to "political and ulterior motives." They alleged that a desire to avoid strengthening Eisenkot's political standing by showing him with state security was a factor in the decision.
