Dutch broadcaster again boycotts Eurovision over Israel

AVROTROS, a Dutch public broadcaster, announced it will not manage the Netherlands' entry for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2027, citing Israel's participation due to its "large-scale military action." This follows their withdrawal of the Dutch entry from the 2024 contest for the same reason. While other countries like Ukraine and Russia are also involved in military campaigns, AVROTROS's statement specifically refers to Israel. The umbrella organization NPO may assign another broadcaster to organize the Dutch entry. The Netherlands was one of five countries, including Spain, Ireland, Slovenia, and Iceland, that withdrew from Eurovision this year. Israeli singer Noam Bettan secured second place in the Grand Final in Vienna.
