Grenade thrown at under-construction Japanika in Hadera as attacks against sushi chain continue

Police are investigating a flash grenade attack early Sunday morning at a new, under-construction Japanika sushi restaurant in Hadera. No injuries were reported, but damage occurred to the storefront. This incident is the latest in a series of attacks targeting Japanika branches across Israel, including locations in Netanya, Afula, Herzliya, Givatayim, Kiryat Ono, and Ramat Gan, which have involved grenades, a pipe bomb, and gunfire, resulting only in property damage.

Police are investigating a suspicion that the attacks are part of an escalation in the conflict between the Musli and Jarushi criminal organizations.

Sources suggest that Japanika owner Barak Abramov is perceived as affiliated with the Jarushi family, making his businesses targets for the Musli organization. The conflict is reportedly over a multi-million dollar cryptocurrency dispute.
