Israel’s newest submarine INS Drakon heads home from Germany

Israel's sixth submarine, INS Drakon, has departed Germany for Israel, with its arrival anticipated within weeks. A send-off ceremony at the TKMS shipyard in Kiel marked the culmination of joint Israeli-German planning and construction. The INS Drakon is the final submarine in the Dolphin-class AIP series, featuring advanced technologies to enhance the Navy's operational flexibility and endurance. Israeli Navy commander Vice Adm. Eyal Harel stated that the Drakon, alongside future Dakar-class submarines, "will bring more advanced capabilities, greater operational range, longer endurance on missions and significant operational power."
