Minority of House Dems vote to continue aid to Israel, as amendment to cut funding fails 104-314

An amendment to end $3.3 billion in annual military aid to Israel failed in the House of Representatives with a vote of 104-314, revealing a significant split within the Democratic caucus. Only 93 of 212 House Democrats voted to continue the aid, while 103 voted to end it, and 10 voted “present.” The amendment, introduced by Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), saw Massie as the sole Republican in favor. Debate highlighted sharp divisions, with Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) stating, “This amendment would embolden the enemies of peace,” while Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-Texas) accused Israel of “ethnic cleansing.” The vote also saw 18 AIPAC-endorsed Democrats vote to cut aid, with one, Rep.
