Two Israeli troops hurt by IED amid effort to destroy Hezbollah terror assets in Lebanon

Two Israeli soldiers sustained light injuries on Saturday when their engineering vehicle struck a Hezbollah explosive device in the security zone in Southern Lebanon. In response, the IDF targeted Hezbollah infrastructure, including observation posts, in several areas of Southern Lebanon. The IDF stated it would continue operations in the security zone under the ceasefire agreement, aiming to remove threats. "The IDF is currently operating and will continue to operate with determination against Hezbollah’s repeated attempts to harm IDF soldiers," the military affirmed. This incident follows recent IDF actions to dismantle Hezbollah's underground networks, including a sprawling system under the Ali al-Taher Ridge, built with Iranian funding over two decades and intended for a planned conquest of the Galilee. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun reiterated his government's commitment to disarming Hezbollah, stating, "We have no choice but negotiations, because the alternative is war, which would be very costly for us."
