US attacks Iran for 11th consecutive night

US Central Command (CENTCOM) has completed its 11th consecutive night of air strikes against Iran, targeting military operations centers, maritime capabilities, aircraft hangars, drone storage facilities, and logistics infrastructure to degrade Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Explosions were reported across Tehran, Bushehr, Sirik, and near Behbahan and Omidiyeh, with a strike also hitting a military zone near Tabriz, marking a shift from previous strikes focused on southern Iran. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the US will defend the principle of freedom of navigation, asserting, “If we create a precedent in the Middle East where a nation state can decide that they are going to control an international waterway, charge a toll, and if you don’t pay them, blow up your ships. We have created a very dangerous precedent.” US President Donald Trump threatened to attack a suspected Iranian nuclear site, while Iran warned of expanded regional attacks if its nuclear sites are targeted. Diplomatic efforts are underway, with Iranian and Qatari officials engaging in talks to de-escalate tensions.
