Eldar Dayan's body found near Petah Tikva after three weeks of searching, police confirm
The discovery came one day after orders were issued to transfer the investigation from the Dimona Police Station in the Southern District to the Sharon District Central Unit.
The body of Eldar Dayan, a 23-year-old from Dimona who had been missing for nearly three weeks, was discovered on Thursday morning in an open area near the Yarkon Interchange. Police confirmed the identification later that day. The discovery followed the transfer of the investigation from the Dimona Police Station to the Sharon District Central Unit, as previous search efforts and investigative leads by the Dimona station had been exhausted. Dayan's mother arrived at the scene, reportedly pleading with police to "take her to the child" to identify the remains.
