Final punishments doled out to Givati soldiers after mass walkout at Sde Teiman base

The IDF has concluded disciplinary proceedings against Givati Brigade soldiers involved in a mass walkout at Sde Teiman base. The incident occurred after a dispute with commanders over the removal and destruction of battalion insignias, with one commander reportedly using “a five-kilogram hammer to destroy one of the insignias.” Three soldiers identified as leaders of the walkout received 30 days in military prison and were removed from combat roles. A fourth soldier, tried while on discharge leave, was sentenced to 20 days in military prison and also removed from combat duty. Previously, 14 other soldiers received similar sentences, while 80 who returned to base faced lighter disciplinary actions.
