Palestine Action Canada launches nationwide ‘Day of Action’ targeting Elbit suppliers

Palestine Action Canada and the Arms Embargo Now coalition have announced a nationwide "Day of Action" for August 13, targeting Canadian companies that supply components to Elbit Systems. The campaign urges activists to pressure these businesses to sever ties, warning of "political, financial, and reputational cost of complicity." The coalition provided training workshops and a digital toolkit for activists, instructing them on identifying and targeting local supply chain entities. They have compiled a list of 33 potential corporate and manufacturing sites across Canada for simultaneous demonstrations. In response, Meir Weinstein of the Jewish Defense Force stated, "We are discussing counter-protests. We have contacted some of the businesses that are on the target list." Advocacy groups like B'nai Brith Canada have urged the Canadian government to designate Palestine Action as a terrorist entity, citing the group's tactics and target mapping, following the UK government's proscription of Palestine Action as a terrorist organization in July 2025.
