Police are investigating antisemitic swastika graffiti painted on the base of a statue of Rabbi Moses ben Maimon (Rambam) in Cordoba, Spain. The vandalism occurred in the city's Jewish Quarter, prompting immediate condemnation from local authorities and Spanish Jewish communities. Cintia Bustos, acting mayor, called it an "attack against the city's heritage," while Antonio Hurtado of the PSOE lamented "the extreme seriousness of the message of hate it represents." The Federation of Spanish Jewish Communities expressed "total repudiation of the targeting with a Nazi symbol of this Jewish, Sephardic, Cordoban, Spanish, universal figure." A specialized team has been tasked with cleaning the bronze statue, sculpted in 1964, which commemorates Rambam's importance to Spain's cultural heritage.
