Wounded IDF soldiers complete semester through Bar-Ilan University rehabilitation program

Forty-six IDF soldiers wounded in the Swords of Iron war recently completed a semester of academic studies through Bar-Ilan University’s Hashalom Project, a rehabilitation initiative combining higher education with physical and emotional recovery. The program, established by the Sunflower Center for Academic Resiliency, allows wounded soldiers to take regular university courses while receiving individualized support. Participants studied subjects including engineering, law, and economics, and received academic tutoring, emotional support, and transportation assistance. Zohar Yinon, Bar-Ilan University Senior Executive Vice President and CEO, stated, “I hope this year has given you not only knowledge, but also confidence.” The university has also created a dedicated admissions pathway for Hashalom participants to continue into undergraduate degree programs. The project is supported by Bar-Ilan University, the Magbit Foundation, the Altshuler Shaham Group, and the Benin Group.
