Yemen's Houthis claim attack on Saudi Aramco's refinery in Jazan, Saudi Arabia

Yemen's Houthi group claimed responsibility for an attack on Saudi Aramco's Jazan refinery in southwestern Saudi Arabia on Sunday morning. Saudi Arabia's Energy Ministry reported that firefighters extinguished a fire at the facility, which processes 400,000 barrels of crude oil daily, without specifying the cause. This incident follows a previous Houthi attack on July 27 that damaged the plant's Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle complex and tank farm, leading to a temporary shutdown. Aramco chief Amin Nasser stated last week that recent attacks caused some production interruptions but had "no material operational or financial impact." The Houthis declared a naval blockade on Saudi Arabia in the Red Sea last month, citing a Saudi siege of Yemen, which Riyadh denies.
