US bombs Iran for three hours, on ninth consecutive night

The U.S. military conducted its ninth consecutive night of strikes against Iranian military sites on Sunday, bombing targets for three hours from 7 to 10 p.m. U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) stated these attacks targeted "Iranian military command centers, air defense and coastal surveillance sites, maritime capabilities, missile and drone launch sites and communications networks" to degrade Iran’s ability to attack commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. President Donald Trump affirmed the strikes were carried out "very hard again" in honor of U.S. service members killed in a July 17 Iranian attack on a Jordanian base, where "unidentified remains" were found. Meanwhile, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir stated Israel is prepared to "immediately resume combat" and is closely monitoring regional tensions, with Israeli defense officials believing the likelihood of escalation with Iran has significantly increased.
